Duke vs. Villanova Preview Sweet Sixteen

I wil wake up tomorrow as either the happiest of people in the world, or one of those who are very, very sad. Why? Because tonight Duke plays three seeded Villanova, this game starts at 9:57 EST.

Duke was off to a hot start this season and then it seemed as if they could not put two halfs together. As I am sure many have forgoten, there was a point in the year where this young team was ranked number one in the country. They then like I stated were not able to put two halfs together and found themselves forcing desperate combacks at the end of the game. Coach K would not tolerate any more of this. He then made a line-up change puting Elliot Williams into the starting line-up, since then, they have only lost one game to UNC (at Chapel Hill). Duke players have not been very consistent this year, but one player Duke knows will always show up to play, Gerald Henderson. Henderson is by far the most athletic Dukie and is the leading in-conference scorer for Duke. Kyle Singler has been Duke's leader in many categories and usually has a breakout half and a half where he is just run-of-the-mill. Coach K has to bring every weapon in his arsenal.

Villanova is by far the most physical team and can take you out of the game in a hurry. They played in the toughest conference, the Big East, and did good enough to get a three seed. Scott Reynolds, is the guard who has lead the Wildcats throughout the season and has been playing better with every game. However the biggest threat to Duke is to get inside on them. And boy, Dante Cunningham can do that like no other! Cunningham is the biggest threat towards Duke and can make me have nightmares depending on his performance tonight. If he comes to play, 'Nova has a great chance at advancing to the Elite Eight.

Oh yeah, I forgot Henderson school choice came down to either Villanova or Duke, he chose Duke. This should be an emotional game for him.

My prediction Duke 78 - Villanova 77.
