Five Pitchers Who Will Be Knocking On 20:

Five Pitchers Who Will Be Knocking On 20:

1. Roy Halladay, he's the first pitcher to ten wins this season, and his stuff is tremendous, but if his hitters keep slumping, and the rest of the division remains tough, Halladay may not be as "sure thing" to get to twenty wins.

2. Johan Santana, some argue him as the best pitcher in the league, with a low ERA, he's already got nine wins, but he rarely gets run support, so he'll be around 20 maybe not passing it though.

3. CC Sabathia, some might call this pick a homer, but he gets better with every start, as he has done every year, with seven wins as of now, his team is starting to hit again, only spelling g-o-o-d things for CC.

4. Kevin Slowey, tied for the most wins right now, with ten, all he needs to do is double that, and his team may currently have the hottest bats in all of baseball. And his era is only 4.04, now I said only, that's a stretch, I know, but I say it because the Twins easily score over 4 runs a game.

5. Tim Lincecum, on one of the worst hitting teams, he's got seven wins right now, and leads the league in K's, so he could catch fire and chase a back-to-back NL Cy Young Award.

The Rest Of The Best:

Zack Duke, Josh Beckett, Tim Wakefield, Zack Greinke, Matt Cain, all of these are the other top contenders for twenty wins, as there are more, these are the ones who deserve to be watched with that careful eye, as to select just five top winning pitchers is very tough.

Veteran's With A Chance:

Andy Pettitte, seven wins so far, and he's got really tough stuff right now, hard to hit, and he get's run support too!

Randy Johnson, one who doesn't get as much run support regularly, he still is pitching tough at over 40 years of age, he also has seven wins.

Comment's To Be Quoted Section:

It'd be nice to see Beckett get there, and he does have a small chance.  I'm guessing Wakefield slows down in the second half, I'd be shocked to see him finish with 20. - Gocavs33

Response: I would expect Beckett to reach it, although Wakefield with his age and knucklers probably won't make it.
